Back to School – Back to Quilting!!!

Last summer, I kind of missed out on things. My mom had quadruple bypass surgery, my cat was attacked by a coyote (but survived), my sister-in-law was in a serious cycling accident, my father was diagnosed with cancer and died a month later. Then my only uncle passed away. With all the sadness came some very, very special times that I’m not sure would have happened without the tragedy. The good with the bad. Kind of like with my quilting. Do you ever get gung ho cut, cut, cut and then realize that you’ve misread the directions? Back to the drawing board to recalculate the sizes. Usually, I end up with a totally different quilt and I’m thrilled. This fall, on every alternate Wednesday night, let’s get together and enjoy each others company while finishing, fixing or starting a new project.

We also have a wonderful new project called Golden Memories. Patricia Dear, our super duper teacher & mentor, has a truly wonderful talent of simplifying everything and giving you the confidence to complete the most intricate of quilts – no matter what your skill level.

We have new series starting called Friday Night Lites. What a great way to end the week. Friends, food and fun! I’m looking forward to hearing Kathy Dunigan read to us from an older book written by a psychiatrist about the benefits of hand work for ladies. What a hoot! Val Garnett has some very beautiful projects to share with a technique called “Flower Pounding”.

I could go on and on about the line up we have for this fall. It’s very exciting! Hope you can drop by for visit and see for yourself.

Welcome Back!

Janet
